Andrew Bourke ('04)
12/19/05: Andrew has recently transfered to the University of Denver where he has been enjoying being back home and he just completed his first fall ball season with the Pioneers. Andrew writes:
"I feel as though I have experienced it all. Being at UMBC in Maryland last year was one of the most challenging goals I have ever had to overcome. The intensity was far greater than anything I had ever experienced in my lacrosse career in Denver. However, now that I am back and have spent a fall quarter playing for Denver University, I have realized why I love comforts of home and being able to play with friends and in front of family. It has been a great place to play so far and the guys on the team are great. The thing I have noticed between the two teams I have played for is that the work ethic of the Pioneers is much greater than most. Coach Munro has done a great job trying to be a "players coach" this year and hopefully it will pay off in the long run. Fall ball went as planned with no scheduled scrimmages so we can play more games during our season. This will be a very fun year and I hope to see some familiar faces in the stands. GO PIONEERS!"

#19 Karl Koch (CA '05):

11/08/05- Karl is currently a member of the Goucher Varsity team. Here he is playing defense in the Goucher "Fall Brawl" tournament on October 15th in a victory against Belmont Abbey. Karl played either close defense or long stick midfielder in every quarter. He writes:
"I just finished my first fall ball at Goucher College and I had an amazing time. We were able to practice with the coaches 2 times a week which were very intense and very enjoyable. Since starting school I have been introduced to an array of new defenses and clears. At the end of an exhausting 6-week practice schedule we played in a three game lacrosse tournament. Our first game we played Elizabeth Town and beat them 9-7. Our second game we played McDaniel and lost 8-9. In our last game we played Belmont Abbey, which is a D-2 school. We won 12-7. I played a quarter in every game. I had 3 successful clears, a couple take away checks and some ground balls. The speed of play at the collegiate level is a lot faster compared to high school. One thing that Coach Hannan has us doing is a lot of off season prep work for the upcoming season. I am having a lot of fun and can't wait for the actual season to start."

Sam Allen (CA '05):

11/15/05- Sam is playing varsity for Skidmore College in Upstate New York. Here is taking a shot in the Fall Alumni game (side left of cage). He is enjoying his first collegiate fall ball season and he writes:
"Shortly after I arrived at Skidmore I found out that the coach that had recruited me had left and went to another school to coach another team. The experience was a bit rough to accept, but thanks to a dedicated group of seniors and with the support of the school administration we found a coach who had the same goals and aspirations as we did. We interviewed a number of highly qualified coaches, and after some intense deliberation the team came to a decision on a man named Jack Sandler. Due to the coaching situation we were a little late in starting fall-ball, but with our team unity we were keeping up with a heavy lifting schedule and still holding practices. Once fall-ball officially began, the team had already bonded and the experience was amazing. This fall has taught me a lot about college athletics and I realized that there is so much I need to learn and develop while participating in the Skidmore lacrosse program."
